I love how every trader says this about every time. Ask Gainzy and the last time it was possible to be a profitable trader was 2021. Ask this guy and it was exactly 2024 when Virtuals launched. Ask someone who full ported XPL presale or Aster at 0.1c and it was 2 months ago. Every trader really just wishes for the exact same conditions as their last profitable trade. Be adaptable and you can avoid this bad mindset.
Actually kinda sad tonight. It's almost been a full year since a $750 buy of VIRTUAL changed the trajectory of my portfolio, social presence, career, and life. Things were much simpler then. You simply had to be curious and look for something somewhat new and somewhat interesting and believe that perhaps others would as well. That world doesn't exist anymore. Somewhere along the way we allowed the systematic destruction of belief via automation, insider scams, and ultimately the rinsing of immense amounts of unsophisticated retail capital. That world is unlikely to ever come back, and I believe the "dream" is largely dead for those coming into this space with very little to use skill or cunning to create large amounts of wealth. This last year treated me extremely well. I saw growth and wealth creation that were unlike anything I could have ever imagined. It allowed me to set my family up very well for the future. I'm forever thankful that I got to experience it. But I'm sad that it seems unlikely for that experience to be broadly shared in the future. Maybe we invent new games that don't get rapidly "solved" and turned into industrial farms, but it's very difficult to see what that might look like. We're no longer "early." Honestly we haven't been for a while, but the bleeding edge of "onchain" is no longer the wild west gold-rich land it once was. It's more like a deserted minefield after the war has raged and moved on. Perhaps a real ICO season (shoutout to Mega) can bring back some of the joy and magic. Time will tell.
